Popcorn is a great snack. It can also be a great dessert, gift or party addition. I found these two recipes on Pinterest and they’ve been real hits with my friends.
The first is called Party Popcorn, although my friends call it Cake Batter Popcorn. This is super easy and super delicious. Then the second is Hot Chocolate Popcorn. It’s for those chocolate lovers and it’s a bit more gooey.

Popcorn, I usually just pop two microwaveable bags. Don’t use movie butter flavor or kettlecorn. Lightly salted is ok.
One bag of vanilla flavored candy chips (can be bought at a craft store like Michael’s or Hobby Lobby)
Set up your popcorn making station. I usually use a 9×13 dish plus a large baking sheet, both covered with aluminum foil. Pop your popcorn. Work in batches, pour some of the popcorn into your containers. Remove any unpopped kernels. You wouldn’t want your friends chipping a tooth.
After your popcorn has been de-unpopped kernel-ified (ya, go with it), melt your vanilla candy chips. After the chips are fully melted and smooth, pour it on top of the popcorn. I use a measuring cup to melt the chips so I have a small spout. I work in a drizzling pattern, pouring it in streams over all of my popcorn. Work as quickly as you can so the candy chips don’t start hardening.
Once you pour out all of the candy coating start shaking the sprinkles over the top. Take a spoon (or very clean hands) and start mixing all the popcorn together. You want the sprinkles to be pretty visible so your popcorn looks festive. You’ll probably have to add more sprinkles.
Let the popcorn sit for awhile. As the candy coating cools, it will harden. There will be some popcorn clusters and what not. Once it’s hardened a bit, put it in whatever container you’re serving it in and it’s ready to go!
Hot Chocolate Popcorn

Popcorn, same instructions as above
Hot chocolate powder
Vanilla candy chips
For the chocolate, you need to make a choice, chocolate candy chips or melted chocolate chips/bars. In my experience, melted chocolate got too gooey and took forever to harden
Set up your popcorn making station. I usually use a 9×13 dish plus a large baking sheet, both covered with aluminum foil. Pop your popcorn. Work in batches, pour some of the popcorn into your containers. Remove any unpopped kernels. Add in your marshmallows.
Melt your vanilla candy chips and drizzle over the popcorn/marshmallow mix. Give everything a quick stir and then pour your hot chocolate powder over the top. I used two of the individual hot chocolate packets. Mix your popcorn so the hot chocolate powder covers everything.
Then take your melted chocolate or candy chips and drizzle it over the top. Let everything set, cool and harden. Then transfer into your container to eat.
